Wofford made an incredible run in the SoCon tournament winning all three games it played. In addition, the Terriers had a +39-point differential in the tournament and shot 45.2% from three. With these incredible statistics, can the Terriers now do the unthinkable?
The Truth:
This game for Wofford is going to be very difficult. Tennessee is an amazing basketball team as well as a national championship contender. The Vols are the 7th most selected champion picked for all brackets across the nation at 3.59%. Fox Sports gives Wofford a 3% chance to beat Tennessee, meaning it is more likely the Vols win the national championship than the Terriers will win this game.
Is it Possible?:
Of course, it is possible. However, it is going to be difficult. For the Terriers to win, they are going to have to shoot around 50% from three. If you take a look at the previous 15 > 2 upsets, these teams that have won shot the 3-pointer extremely well. In addition to amazing shooting, the Terriers will have to rebound the basketball like they have been doing all season. Wofford had 14 offensive rebounds against VMI in the SoCon semifinal game. Jackson Sivills, who had a career-high 20 points against Furman in the championship, will have to be the Terriers X-factor again in this contest. While this may be a difficult task, if the Terriers play like they did against Furman offensively, they WILL have a chance to pull off one of the all-time greatest upsets.
